Informal Mixed Group - Gi
In this particular group and similar groupings, I offer lessons on largely introductory topics ranging from: what to do against a standing opponent to how to proceed once on the ground.
This regular group session has people who were trying out their first ever lessons as well as a few people who had been training for a few years, this was a 30+ session.
As we delve deeper into the curriculum, the topics covered become more detail-oriented and complex.
As it is curriculum based, this is a long term project.
Formal Advanced Group - No-gi
This group was a class I started teaching in late 2014, one hour a week. I started off with 2-3 students and now, sometimes I will have over 15.
As another long term project, my curriculm was to lay down a framework of basics and overarching principles, then to add in the cherries on top.
The mean skill level has increased dramatically along with the group size.
Seminar - Gi
A great little gym in Kincardine, Ontario. I drove up and did a seminar where I taught guard concepts and some of my favorite moves and ended it off by rolling with everyone.
Formal Class - Women's Class - Gi
This was a semi-long term project. My goal was to turn the occasional presence of a female in a male dominated sport into a fully blossomed women's program. I got to lead it and it was very successful!
Private - Gi
Someone I met at an open mat, after we rolled I offered some input towards a few holes I observed. He contacted me afterwards and wanted to do privates on a semi-regular basis.
Formal Mixed Levels Class - Gi
I taught this group over several years and had the pleasure of watching them all move up through the ranks. An extremely dedicated bunch.
